This session will highlight some of those key rules and how to position the idea of life insurance to lock in those benefits in case future administrations change current rules. In addition, there were a handful of key tax cases and rulings that you need to know as you work with clients. In all, knowing the rules will create opportunities in 2026 and beyond.

Exploring a modern approach to succession planning-

not just passing the business to your kids, but truly integrating the next generation of advisors into your practice while preserving and strengthening your firm’s culture. Drawing on Matt’s personal experience of successfully absorbing three producers’ books of business, this session challenges traditional agency models by recognizing the changing landscape: fewer agencies are training new advisors, and many young producers today come from private practice or non-insurance institutions like banks and brokerages.

Key themes include:

  • Finding, mentoring, and culturally integrating the “”right young advisor.””
  • Structuring training around essential skills, mindset, and business acumen.
  • Teaching prospecting strategies aligned with an ideal client profile.
  • Empowering advisors to reach the next generation of clients.
  • Providing the right resources (insurance carriers, software, and coaching).
  • Communicating a clear exit strategy to both team and clients.
  • The session emphasizes actionable HOW strategies over simply explaining WHY, ensuring participants leave with concrete frameworks, templates, and step-by-step plans to future-proof their practices and safeguard client relationships.

Life insurance is far too often portrayed as having an “advantaged” status for tax purposes, a term that raises eyebrows for tax practitioners.

The reality is much more mundane. Life insurance is taxed appropriately and logically – but because of the unique characteristics of the product, it offers a degree of tax control that is arguably unmatched by any other insurance or financial instrument. This session builds the life insurance tax story from the ground up so that you can confidently and accurately portray the product and its taxation to even the most skeptical client.
