George “Chip” Van Dusen IV, agency Principal, serves as President and CEO of Diversified Brokerage Services, Inc. (DBS). After holding positions in both public relations and sales, Chip began his insurance career in 1989 as a Marketing Associate at DBS. In 1991 he accepted a position as a management intern in the home office of a major insurance carrier, and in 1992 he returned to DBS where he continued his work in Sales and later became its President.
Chip’s primary focus is to drive the overall strategic growth and stability of the company. Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, he sets the goals and tracks the progress of the company. He regularly connects with other leaders throughout the insurance industry to stay current on trends, changes, and developments, examines how they might affect the agency, and uses this knowledge to help guide executive and general planning decisions.
Chip currently serves our industry in many ways, specifically, as a current Board Member of AALU/GAMA and its current Chair of the Government Affairs Committee, Past Chairman and current member of NAILBA, and a past President of the Minneapolis Association of NAIFA. In addition, Chip currently serves on several Carrier and Industry Field Advisory Councils and is an active member of LIFE Inc., a National Life Brokerage Study Group. Chip attended Edina High School and Bemidji State University in Minnesota.
