AALU/GAMA launched its COVID-19 Action Center in response to the global coronavirus pandemic. The Action Center served as a valuable resource for the financial security profession, providing best practices, tools, and analysis designed to help navigate this unprecedented time.

AALU and GAMA International membership overwhelmingly voted to approve the creation of the new organization and its first Board of Directors. Through a membership vote, AALU and GAMA members approved the dissolution of each organization to create of the new organization and its governing body .

AALU and GAMA International announced its intention to merge and create a new Washington, D.C.-based organization that represents the entire financial security profession. AALU, the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting, has been a trusted, influential voice for life insurance and annuities distribution since 1957. GAMA International was founded in 1952 and served the first-line and front-line leaders in the insurance, investment, and financial security profession.
