Every day, Marc Cadin wakes up and thinks about how he can better serve the financial security advisor.
As CEO of AALU, he is the chief advocate and spokesman for advisors who offer financial security to 75 million American families. Cadin has a deep respect for what AALU members do each day and is passionate about supporting the American people as they seek the advice and guidance they need to plan effectively for their financial future.
Cadin first arrived at AALU in 2000 and quickly emerged as a key leader in helping the organization evolve from a small group of sophisticated advisors to one of the preeminent organizations representing the profession.
Cadin’s collaboration remains a core element of a career defined by results.
He helped build an advocacy machine powered by the engagement of ordinary citizens—AALU members who work closely with families and businesses to develop, implement, and maintain plans designed to enhance financial and retirement security.
His work with AALU members helped sharpen his understanding of the impact legislation and regulation has on clients, which makes him a go-to influencer on high-profile policy discussions, including, most recently, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.
With a focus on serving the best interests of AALU members’ clients through advice and products that ensure financial and retirement security, he played a central role in establishing AALU as one of the strongest advocacy organizations in Washington, D.C.
Cadin is now leading the implementation of an ambitious strategic plan to modernize the organization. By exponentially growing membership, providing world-class value to AALU members, and ensuring that AALU remains the best advocacy organization in Washington, D.C., Cadin is executing a vision that will transform AALU.
Marc began his tenure with AALU as Associate Director, Legislative Affairs. After ascending to lead the Government Affairs team, he was named COO in 2016. Prior to joining AALU, Cadin was a teacher and lacrosse coach at Flint Hill School in Oakton, Virginia.
Earlier in his career, Cadin ran for Virginia’s House of Delegates knocking on 11,205 doors in the process.
He is a graduate of Villanova University and earned his Juris Doctor from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.
Cadin and his wife Jennifer live in McLean, Virginia, with their four children.
