My good friend David Chavern, President and CEO of the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI), joins me for this week’s Monday Brief. I met with him before our Board meeting to discuss what he’s hearing from insurance CEOs and the scrutiny facing our industry.
David also reflected on last year’s tax legislation and the work we did together to secure a major win for our profession. He shared how much time went into helping policymakers understand what was at stake.
I’ve seen how quickly we can get divided by company, product, or business model. Last year’s tax win showed what we can accomplish when carriers and financial professionals work together, and we’ll need that same commitment as we face the scrutiny ahead.
