The Community Impact Leadership Award honors financial security firms/ agencies that are having a tangible, measurable effect on their clients and their communities. That impact might be the result of a number of activities, such as lives secured, charitable efforts or DE&I initiatives that promote doing well by doing good.

James Dean
JD Financial Group
Our Charitable Initiative was creating BUILD Giving and we built a philanthropic arm to give to underserved Black led Non-Profits. The program was successful and the National Life Group Foundation matched the donations to the Non –Profit. We are currently supporting a Black led Non-Profit based out of Dallas https://build.nationallife.com/giving/. In addition, James started a Non-Profit called ROC “rebuilding our communities and focus building and supporting our local communities.
BUILD (https://build.nationallife.com/ ) was recognized in 2022 in INC magazine for making National Life Group a leader in support Black Entrepreneurship. Our leading Division is serving those who serve and we service the Law Enforcement Community Managed by Tye Green (Sr. Director) a first responder to 9-11 I was recognized by Finseca for championing DE&I and supporting these communities by Marc Cadin. JDFG placed Aurora Turner in the American College as a proctor for FSCP designation to help bridge the gap for Black Advisors – The American College – Build and National Life Group. I personally brought George Wilson “President of The American College” to zoom call for Mehra Assadi NLG and Mehran gave a silver sponsorship for CAAFP.

Tim Sinks
Capital Financial Group, LLC
Tim began his career in financial services in 1986, becoming Managing Partner for Capital Financial Group (CFG) in 1998. CFG has seen tremendous growth, specifically for clients requiring a higher level of planning for more complex situations. Tim launched and founded Continuum Planning Partners (CPP), a division of CFG in 2015. Married to Darlene, they have two children–Adam and Abby–and one grandchild. Tim enjoys the outdoors, spending time fly fishing, boating, and riding many of the motorcycles from his collection.

Paul Dodd
Northwestern Mutual
Paul Dodd joined the Northwestern Mutual Syracuse office in January of 2003 as Managing Partner. In a sense, Paul is returning to his roots, as his family is originally from Skaneateles. His experience in sales, training and agency development made him an ideal choice to lead the Northwestern Mutual Syracuse office. As Managing Partner, Paul Dodd is responsible for the agency’s sales and service operations in the Greater New York area including the Syracuse, Binghamton, Utica-Rome, Watertown, Ithaca, and Buffalo and Rochester Metropolitan areas. Paul’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from Brown University, Phi Beta Kappa, in 1985 and a master’s degree from Southern Seminary in 1988. Mr. Dodd also holds the designations of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®).

Ken Gallacher
American National
Ken entered the insurance business with his current company in 1975 at 24 years old. He built a very successful insurance agency and in 1987 he added recruiting, training, and developing agents to his duties. Throughout the years, Ken built an agency that was recognized by his company as the leading agency in manpower, life insurance premium, profit, and professionalism. As a personal producer, Ken earned membership in the Million Dollar Round Table. He has been the recipient of GAMA International’s National Management Award for over 25 years. Ken earned GAMA International’s Master Multi Line Award since its inceptions 2007 to year to date. .Ken was recognized in the industry by his company for First In Class Award and was inducted into American National’s Hall of Fame in 2016.
Ken joined American National in 1975. He has earned his company’s prestigious President’s Club for over 30 years. He has also earned his company’s Chieftain Club, Summit Club, VIP Award, and General Agent of Distinction multiple times. Ken Gallacher and his business partner, Terry Cochran, have earned American National’s Gold level Citation multiple times for the region and agency that they oversee.
For hobbies, Ken is a 9th degree black belt and currently serves as President of Chuck Norris’s United Fighting Arts Federation. Ken is in two Martial Arts Hall of Fame and has been recognized as a top competitor. Ken enjoys all of his hobbies with children and grandchildren: karate, snow skiing, golf, fishing, surfing. Ken is also very active in his church. He assists in overseeing a congregation of over 3,000 individuals in Henderson and Boulder City, Nevada. As an Eagle Scout, he continues to be very active in the Boy Scouts of America and is currently working with his grandsons on their path to their Eagle Scout.

Luis Chiappy
Equitable Advisors
Luis G. Chiappy is Complex President of the Southeast Complex of Equitable Advisors and Executive Vice President/Senior Manager of Equitable Advisors – South Florida Branch.
The South Florida branch has continuously ranked as one of the top field branch offices, receiving the company’s prestigious President’s Trophy – a measure of overall profitability, productivity and management effectiveness – an unprecedented 20 times. The President’s Trophy awards distinguish the branch and its associates for outstanding increases in sales volume, as well as associate retention and development. The branch is also one of the largest of its kind in the State of Florida, and is comprised of approximately 200 financial professionals.
He is also a member of Equitable Advisors’ highest level internal producer group – the Paramount Planning Group – as one of Company’s leading advisors. In 1998, Mr. Chiappy was inducted into the prestigious Hall of Fame. In October 2003, Mr. Chiappy received the honor of being elected President of the company’s Old Guard, which represents the entire sales force.
Mr. Chiappy is a member of the following industry and civic organizations: the Miami Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (MAIFA), the American Association of Life Underwriters (AALU) / GAMA, Miami Chapter and the United Way of Dade County, and is a Lifetime and Qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT).

Master Agency Awards are given to an agency head that is an active Finseca member at a firm with at least $7,800,000 USD in commission levels or $15,600,000 USD in premium levels during the previous year.
Master Multiline Award
The Master Multiline Award is given to an agency head that is an active Finseca member with an agency or firm that achieved at least $300,000 USD in gross life and annuity premiums and at least $10,000,000 USD in gross property and casualty premiums during the previous year.

The Community Impact Leadership Award honors financial security firms/ agencies that are having a tangible, measurable effect on their clients and their communities. That impact might be the result of a number of activities, such as lives secured, charitable efforts or DE&I initiatives that promote doing well by doing good.
