WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 29, 2022) – Today, the House of Representatives took a significant step toward ensuring that more Americans can retire securely by passing the Securing a Strong Retirement Act of 2022 (SSRA of 2022) with overwhelming bipartisan support, 414 to 5.
“The number one question our members hear from many of the clients they serve is, ‘Am I prepared for retirement?’ Today, Congress took a key step forward in offering additional tools for more Americans to be prepared,” said Marc Cadin, CEO of Finseca. “This piece of legislation, which we are optimistic will be signed into law this year, builds on the legacy of leadership from SECURE back in 2019. We commend the leadership demonstrated by Chairman Richie Neal (D-MA) and Ranking Member Kevin Brady (R-TX) by continuing to recognize that Americans today face headwinds when planning for retirement – both with setting aside assets and ensuring they don’t outlive them.”
The SSRA of 2022 will empower more Americans to meet the challenges of planning for retirement in today’s world by enabling them to save earlier, save at work, access guaranteed lifetime income products, and engage with the best financial security professionals in the nation to ensure they have a plan that works for them.
